East Tour
Santana Safari Adventure
Service Description
Our adventure begins with a stop at a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the city — the perfect setting for your first photos of the day. We then follow a picturesque regional road before heading onto a dirt track that leads us to a hidden local bar. Here, you'll have the chance to taste a traditional poncha, authentically prepared — a true Madeiran experience. Next, we ascend through the lush green areas of Montado do Pereiro and Poiso until we reach Pico do Areeiro, the third-highest peak on the island. We'll stop here to take in the panoramic views above the clouds — a truly unforgettable moment. As we descend, we head toward Ribeiro Frio along scenic roads, including another small off-road section. At Ribeiro Frio, you can observe trout farming and, if you wish, enjoy a short, relaxing forest walk to the Balcões viewpoint, where your guide will meet you at the end of the trail. We continue with an exciting off-road journey through the heart of the Laurissilva forest — a UNESCO World Heritage site — following trails known only to locals, towards Faial. In Santana, we'll visit the iconic traditional thatched houses and enjoy a well-deserved lunch at a typical local restaurant. After lunch, we head to the Guindaste viewpoint, featuring a glass platform and breathtaking views of the island’s north coast. We then continue to the village of Porto da Cruz, where your guide will share interesting facts about Madeira’s agricultural traditions. Our final stop is the impressive Ponta de São Lourenço, where the landscape completely transforms — arid, rocky, and wild, yet strikingly beautiful. From there, just sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenery as we return to your accommodation.
