Begin at Cabo Girão, one of Europe's highest sea cliffs with a thrilling glass skywalk 580m above the Atlantic. Cross the Encumeada ridge road, pause at the Véu da Noiva waterfall viewpoint, and enjoy Porto Moniz's famous natural lava pools with time for lunch and a swim. Continue to the wild sea stacks of Ribeira da Janela, the mystical ancient laurel trees of Fanal Forest, and the wide horizons of the Paul da Serra plateau, before descending through fragrant eucalyptus forest and terraced hillsides back to the coast.
